super duper nasty torture
Apr. 17th, 2016 03:44 am"Do you really intend to go through with this?" The detective was supposed to be the smartest person in the room, but she'd asked the dumbest question.
"That was the agreement, right?" For Junko, it wasn't about keeping her end of the deal or anything, it wasn't a matter of fairness. It wasn't even about proving a point anymore.
"H-hold on. It's not like I want you to die! You don't have to-"
"Stop it stop it stop it STOP IT!"
Alright, maybe it was about proving a point a little bit. But it was a different point, so it barely counted.
They stood there while she explained it to them, gaping like catfish. It was their favorite expression to wear, in Junko's experience, and her favorite to see. Even in their victory - in the cheap light of their hope - she could drink up at least this much despair; it was the despair that came from their own helplessness to stop her, even after they'd won. The despair that came from losing someone who may have sort of, kind of, at one point been a good friend, stolen away by a madness they couldn't begin to comprehend.
The despair of knowing that their despair was only beginning, she thought, was still the best one. But none of them compared to her despair, the despair of death she'd been waiting for, her own shining prince on a pale horse.
"Even a tenth of this despair, even a hundredth...I want every last soul on this planet to taste such despair! I want the entire world to die with that despair in its mouth!" Her resolve shook the court, her body shook with pleasure as drool teased the edge of her lips. Their expressions turned to disgust and bewilderment as her trembling hand neared the button that would end her life.
"Okay, let's do this...I've reserved an extra special punishment for last, so let's give it everything we've got! It's PUNISHMENT TIIIIME!"
She was battered by a thousand baseballs. The blood in her mouth made her despair.
She was hurled through countless loops at matchless speed. The spinning world made her despair.
She was swallowed by an ocean of flames. The flying firetruck made her despair.
She was smashed dozens and dozens of times. The endless construction made her despair.
She was blasted past the skies, where no man had gone before. The snickering moon made her despair.
She sat on her throne in the end, crown atop her head and her bear clutched in her arms, trembling with joy and swaying in abject terror, entirely unable to hold still. She couldn't contain herself - Junko Enoshima couldn't contain herself at all, as the conveyor belt to hell carried her to a sudden and terrible end.
That was the kind of person that Junko Enoshima was, after all.
Every slam of the crusher made her heart race, sent an incredible heat through her body. They punctuated her first and only failure, they punctuated her mortality. The True Ultimate Despair had fallen, and it was bliss.
Fear gripped her heart as she reached the end of the line and the crusher hovered over her. Junko floated in an infinite abyss of time as she stared up at it.
...Was the ecstasy gone?
She had wanted to die since before she was born - that was the absolute truth. But in the moments of her death, she wondered...
...Well, no. She didn't wonder anything at all, really. For a tiny, insignificant moment, she felt like she had wasted her entire life up to then on something meaningless. She had sacrificed the most important people in her life over nothing at all - to satisfy her own perverse, transient desires for a little while.
She saw Yasuke-kun's face, heard him calling her a stupid, ugly girl.
She saw Mukuro-chan's face, twisted with dark obsession.
She saw her classmates, the ones she dearly loved and, even more than that, dearly hated, cut down one by one by her games of mutual killing. Laughter turned to choked screams, smiling faces turned dead and lifeless.
In that final moment, Junko Enoshima knew regret. And with that regret, with that revelation, she despaired.
It was a new, intoxicating despair, the deepest most despair-inducing despair that she had ever felt.
That's when the crusher came down.
